July Berkeley I-Corps Wrap Up

While others are on vacation, intrepid UC Berkeley PhD student Luis Cantu & postdoc Kilian Dekoninck set out to find real needs in microbial strain discovery.

In only 20 interviews, they invalidated 6 initial customer segments, but found 5 warranting further exploration.  They also found that for their particular innovation, bigger isn’t always better and validated the true bottleneck for scaling.

Big applause to the other teams, hailing from UC Berkeley, Oregon State University & University of California, San Francisco

A special thank you to instructor Carl Bouthillette, TAs Natalia Shamoon + Aaron Chen & Dave Weiner for another fantastic cohort.
