September I-Corps Course Wrap up
Just wrapped our September I-Corps course with 7 strong teams from across the Hub, led by our always awesome Annam Quraishi
We love seeing National-Corps alums return to bring and support new teams! After completing Nationals, John Coates (along with Ouwei Wang & Shannon Hall) Pow.Bio raised $14 million and is generating revenue while creating 32 local jobs.
Sansuro Bio is a team of UC Berkeley Coleman Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership MEng BioE students/recent grads. In only 21 interviews, they discovered that their probiotic solves the 2nd biggest problem for their largest target market, not their 1st one. They also learned that demand won’t scale without supply security, but investment in supply won’t come without clear, profitable demand.
What's next? Bridge this issue by finding & starting with smaller segments that do have a shark bite problem
Way to go, Shandion Santoso, Kimberly Surja, Theodore Oentoro, with extra thanks to Professor Coates & Thiago Correa, PhD
